It's a jeep thing

This jeep has been sitting like this since Tuesday night. The driver is a 20 year old guy. I went and looked at it earlier. This kid is lucky he didn't roll.
A local 4x4 club is going to help him recover it. I'm going to try and be there for that.

On the way to look at the jeep I spotted a nice roadster. So this is kind of Bronco related.

Where are you?
Between Tehachapi and Mojave?
Very strange story. It's too valuable to leave there like that. Even a YJ.

It's about 1.5 miles east of Fairfax rd on Alfred Harrell hwy. Right where you can leave the hwy to access the houses on the river.

We are west of Tehachapi. About 35-45 min drive from where I live in Bakersfield.

Here is an update from "4x4him" Facebook page.

I find it odd that he's not made contact with his mom or the 4x club that offered to help retrieve it.

As of 4:00 p.m. today that jeep was still hanging on. Me and my son drove out to see if there had been a recovery attempt. So far no one has touched it. As a matter of fact we didn't see anyone around it.

Were expecting rain this week so I imagine the owner would like to get it down before that. That area erodes fast when the rains hit.

Jakedog...
There are a lot of great trails in your area. (I lived most of my life in Bakersfield)
My favorite run is the Oak Flat lookout tower snow run. Everyone wants to be the first up there with the first snow. It's on Rancheria Rd. going from Hwy. 178 to Shirley Meadows.

Another is the old Sheep Trail out of Arvin. It's got some really great climbs.

I was able to stay the night in the Oak Flat lookout tower once in 97 and again in 99. At that time you could go to the BLM office and pay $25 to stay overnight. Super cool experience.
Not many people knew about being able to stay the night in the tower at that time. Now there is a waiting list to stay there.
