Ok...

Once upon a time a long long time ago I was on this great site and found a thread with a bunch of people talking about what tire and wheel combination people here were using in regards to running 17" wheels with stock suspension.

Unfortunately, I don't remember what search term I used when I stumbled on that thread...and this site won't let me simply search the word "17". I have searched for hours (no exaggeration) and just can't find it.

So maybe someone here can either point me in the right direction or tell me the setup they are running.

All I do know is:
17" rims (don't remember width)

Not sure on backspacing (I'm figuring 3.75) or tire size.

Keep in mind its stock suspension with cut fenders. Thanks for the help as always guys!

I would do a 17" x 8 with a negative offset so you do not run into clearance problems on the steering. Tire size can probably be a 265/70r-17, or which is = to a 31 x 10.50 r15.

Hmm, I'd think a 3.75 or 4" BS will be fine , maybe a touch more with rims that big , but I do not know for sure with anything over 4".

Here is a link to help you with the tire sizes. Look for the "specs" link , it will list the tire by size with all the other dimensions on the same line.
The overall diameter will be the height of the tire.
The section width is what is typically used for the width measurement , not the tread width.

Bobby - that sounds possibly right.

I know there were a few folks here who have already done this and was hoping to get there attention. Hopefully they will save me from wasting money on the wrong size wheel and tire combo.
