Seems like everyone's buying EBs these days but I finally found one that I plan on wheeling with. It's a 73 Ranger with PS and a Chebby disk conversion with Duff's power. C4. Has original paint and interior and came with a soft top. The paint was pretty faded when I picked it up but came to life with the Meguiar's cleaner wax. Has a 6 point cage. Engine's been rebuilt and runs good. There's a little rust but not much. I bought it about a mo. ago in TN for a good price I think ($5k). I already have the Duff UFO flares ready to go. I do find it hard to cut such a classic looking EB :'( ...but I think I'll get over it when I'm done ;D

I have a Cage 3.5" lift on the way. I found a great deal on some M/T original Classics (the ones out of production) in 15x8 that a body shop had sitting around for a few years. And another great deal on a set of practically new 33" Goodyear MTRs 10 miles from my house. The 5 wheels/tires on now are for sale in the parts section.

I'm pumped :) :) :)

Thanks. I drove down to Morristown TN to get it. Is that anywhere near you?

Yep..I thought that was the one. I new it was for sale, but never got down there to see it. Always looked sweet in the pics. All the pics I had seen always had the top off. Looked sweet topless too. I'm glad it has a nice new home. I am about 45 minutes from Morristown. Wish I'd have known you were around. I'd love to have seen it in person.

I can't believe you got that for $5k! That's a clean Bronco! Post some interior and engine pics and let us know what's on it. ~Gene

Yeah, I made it down and back in a day. Once I saw it and struck a deal I had a uhaul trailer around the corner reserved.

It also has a Grant removable steering wheel which might come in handy. It will need a new exhuast. It looks like the factory setup now. It's got the houndstooth seats and panels in great shape. It's going to be a PITA to get the qrt. panels back on because I have to unbolt the cage to do it.

The bottom of the tailgate has rust but it's been repaired and is livable. There's rust on the 2 interior engine compartment panels in the back. I pulled out the carpet and I'm glad the floor is solid. In fact the paint on the floor is in such good shape I even washed and waxed it too. It needs a new windshield too...someone kept the old wipers on too long.

I put all new seals on the hardtop. I was glad the liftgate works perfectly. Those usually have problems.

The PO put a lot of $$ into it but still sold it to me for about what he paid for it 10 years ago!! It's on the title. He put on the Rancho lift, cage, removable steering wheel, rebuit engine, power disk brake job, soft top, etc. His mechanics did most (all) the work (re: rich guy). He had it listed for $85 but when I called he said $65 and before you knew it I owned it for $51. He said he was tired of going out to meet people and they wouldn't show up. It came with a lot of extra parts that will be sold to help (a little) pay for the project.

CUTTING IT: ?:? :-X :'( :p I do feel bad about this one...but the wheels are in motion. All the parts are either here or on the way. These pics are from last night so I still haven't broke out the saw blades yet. But I think it'll go from a grampa-mobile to a "bad boy". We'll see.

I'll post some more pics tonight.

While I can understand the value of keeping it uncut for maybe having an extremely valuable "original" style someday, I never have liked the look of an uncut early Bronco. Like you said, when they are uncut, they kind of have a "grandpa-mobile" look to them. I really don't like how they look.

BUT, once you cut those rear quarters....WHAT A DIFFERENCE. Cut away, man, cut away! She's gonna look SCHWEET!!!!!

This is what I was thinking myself. Besides you can now buy new replacement quarters that are uncut so a cut can become uncut with just a little work. If done correctly no one should be able to tell either. ;D
