So I did it again. Thanks or maybe "thanks" to Paul aka: Dirt Donk, I have found and purchased another Bronco.
This came up in another thread a while back and I couldn't stop looking at it so I have purchased it with the option of bail out when I see it live and in person.
I'm flying to Reno Friday to give her the once over and if it is what it is claimed to be, she's coming home. I'll be driving it the 1200 miles back up to Washington state over the weekend and hope to post up the goods and hopefully no bars on the trip home.
If Toms is open on Saturday I'm going to stop there and see the new digs.
I hope it goes well so cross your fingers. I'm packing some tools but if anyone knows of some essentials I can get on a plane let me know. I have plenty of duct tape and bailing wire so far.
Here's a teaser picture.

Sounds like a fun road trip. A little risky not knowing the condition or drivability of the new ride, but exciting nonetheless. I would suggest locating every bronco brother between the two locations just in case things go south and you need a tow/garage. ;D

Super cool!

I'm sure it'll all work out and you'll be driving over the weekend. Can't wait to see more pic's, I have one about that color

The rust on the carrier is supposed to be the only spot so we'll see.
Here is the whole truck.

You're going to be so close and you can't just take a "smalll-ish" side trip over the hill to Wild Horses? Well I am depressed (said in his best Slim Pickens voice);)

Looking forward to hearing about the whole trip and all the adventures (and mis-adventures too) therein.

Luck!

Well hell, if you have the wire and tape you're all set. ;D maybe add a multitool ( Leatherman ? ) water & oil when you get there.

Take a little video, I love these kind of trips. have a great time

Paul if you guys are there late we might swing by. We're leaving Reno Friday afternoon probably around 4pm. How long is said short trip over the hill??
We're shooting for someplace in Oregon the first night and maybe finish it off on Saturday leaving Sunday to hopefully relax. But we might need the day if something happens in route.

Have fun, hope it is nice. I wrote the seller and he never got back with me. I love the sliding windows, slots and lots of chrome trim.

Good Luck on the trip. Regardless of the troubles, or hopefully lack thereof, it will be an adventure. There's always that "will we make it?" when dealing with equipment 40+ years old. Definitely when you don't have firsthand experience with it. Have fun and be safe!

Well shoot. What with the fickle weather and no telling how much or little snow, I would not try to make it over here and still get into Oregon by any reasonable hour.
Heck, if you stop here that's a half a day of bs'ing and bronco-talk at a minimum!

Anyway, in good weather and no major traffic drama, it's probably the better part of a 2 to 2.5 hour drive. Out or your way...

Oh well... Next time!

Me too. If all the photos are good I'll be pleased. If not I've got the walk away option in place. I'll try to keep y'all posted as it goes down.
I'm looking forward to it no matter what. It's always fun to go on a adventure!

Congrats on the good looking ride. Enjoy the trip, and if anything goes sideways around PDX, I have an F350 available and a room. We'll just have to round up a trailer.

I'm near CBM performance, the guy from NW Vintage Broncos. We could drop it off there and it will come out 18" taller and have a 427ci installed!

Thanks Kevin I'll keep your number handy. As far as dropping it off if they can't do at least 20" lift and around a 600 cubic inches I'll have to pass. lol
I have a couple other people looking out for me on the way home so even if disaster strikes I should never be more than a 100 mile from a rescue.
Thanks everyone for looking out for a bronco brother!

Hey Todd any good job opportunities down Prescott way? I'm ready to sell the powder shop and head down to warmer drier country!!
