Was intent upon selling my Kayline doors and go for the Bestop 2 piece kind, however my deal making and finances dictate otherwise. %)

That said, I am looking for a set of the tube hinges that mount to the windshield frame at the top of the door. I have seen some posts offering these from a few years ago, but none recently. I know that I can fab these up, and in fact I have the materials ready to go, but I thought best to try the community before going the "fab em up" route. ;D

If you have a set laying around please let me know how much.

Thanks!

Is that Don Peroni's roadster? Sure looks like it, oddly enough I was looking at that up close this summer at the MEB W&R, and I forgot my camera to take pix. LOL! Looks like you took care of it for me! ;D

I am pretty certain that I have to go that route, but I was hoping for an easier fix.

Thanks!

Good question, but after some research I figured it out. There is a 12" (estimated) long square piece of steel that threads into the fabric of the door in front of the vent window and they are pressed into the gutter groove on the windshield frame. The pressure of the cloth and steel should keep them in the groove without any movement but the screw with the metal plate locks it into place and keeps it from popping out if there is a sudden wind gust etc... I would think that adding another one lower on the windshield frame to lock the bottom end of the rod would be a wise move too.

Yes, this does help me a lot. Thanks!

The directions from Tom's were they how to make the hinge or do the door installation? Just curious, since I have the directions for the install, but I was hoping that there was a measurement schematic or something to use as a guide for fabricating the hinges.

thanks i couldnt figure out how to keep mine from popping open going down the road. so poked 2 small holes in door cover and drilled a small hole in the lip and put zip strip thru to hold top and bottom in place. yours looks much nicer

Good idea on the zip ties for a field expedient solution.
