Got a pair of King piggy back smoothie 2.5 shocks that I'm thinking can be mounted in the rear stock mounts. The stock shock mounts (upper & lower) are for 1/2". Lower shock bolt is 1/2" but the upper shock mount stud is 5/8" . Hoping someone has changed upper bearing and spacer to 5/8" to make work. Thanks for any advice

The problem with the stock mounts is the severely limit your travel. Depending on your amount of lift, 24” of extension goes quick. They could end up being limiting straps. 8” travel shocks are very limited, depending on how you’re set up. What lift and tire size are you running?

you can always cut the threaded stud off the upper mount and drill/tap the mount for a 1/2-13 thread. i've done that as a repair for a broken one before

For sure. 8" isn't much (haa!) but it's a lubr with 3,5" susp lift. Wiith 33" x 10.5" so not a Baja machine.
