The problem is, even though that may be the best bolt in available set up, the bronco specific leaf spring are all too stiff.

The basic problem is that by current standards they're too short. I sure wish the Bronc-up's builder had listened to our suggestions and configured for the GM 63's before the frame was galvanized!

mod ideas to match w/1 Bilstein 5100

any Chevy or GMC 1/2 or 3/4 ton truck from 1988-2010, 2wd or 4wd leaf spring with a Barnes Off Rd $160 kit.

How much modification needs to B done to the EB frame/body to accept this mod? Is it a oem hight? (I need a lift).

Thnx

Alot of mods. Of the top of my head with an, I assume 63 in long spring, the rear shackle will stick out beyond the body. Plus, I assume a full size truck spring would be on the stiff side for a small bronco. Colorado springs or a Ford ranger spring would likely be much closer. I run the longer Ford ranger springs from Deaver.

I ran 63's under the rear of an '84 Xcab yota. They were quite supple with only the top 3 leaves of what was a 3/4t pack originally in use. One of the 2 best mods that I ever made to the truck. They were nearly as long as the bed. Don't think a std EB has enough frame rail length for it to work. The Bronc-up is stretched 26" in the WB and 12" btwn the rear axle and the bumper.

interesting, thanks
didn't no that wuz what the '63' meant.
OK, now I C the length in ntsqd's @ the cab'n bed.
Great idea 4 my 1/2 cab (but the full top'n rag top wouldn't fit).
Actually what the EB needs (all ways looked too short in rear frm a side view 2 me).

As 68 mentioned, I have seen Ranger application leaves used under the rear of EB's and they fit. As I recall those are 57" long along the main leaf. Not sure what was involved in the conversion, but I do know that at least one big dog member here has done it.

Ranger leafs leaquired the front mount to moves forward and up. The rear shackle is right at the back of the body right below the body. I moved mine is as much as I could to get a low ride height. If someone wanted to increase the wheel base by about 2 inches the front mount may be used, but modified for the 1/4 in wider spring.
