Seal appears to have spun.

Well I would say its the seal also. Honestly I have never had a seal just fall out. So now I guess we need seal sealer? I know the lock tight will hold the seal in place but I am not sure at all it will seal it.

Well put some red around the seal and housing then put it back in. Once dry I plan to add rtv to the outside in the groove. Ordered a new seal from WH and some E brake parts. JIC

$100 closer to the poor house 😀

Needed to take the crossmember out and paint it so doing that. Plus the D shaft was missing a weight so it's back at the driveline shop. Let them know my disappointment at waiting 4 weeks for the shafts to be modified and they didn't do a good job. Suppose to have it back by Friday.

That all sounds like a good plan. Also On drive shafts I use Carolina Driveline. Great products and service. Pretty fast too.

I used a local shop I've used before with good results. Got the old covid this and covid that BS. Can't get people to work blah blah. OK so your short staffed and have lots of work. That's no excuse for doing a slow crappy job. Just hope the do put me in front of the line and get it back quick.

Oh well....its the world we live in now.

RTV added to the seal to housing point inside the adapter. Once it's try she's going back together.

Well the drive shaft came back today and the shortened twins did too.

She's back on the road. Test drive, no leaks and no vibration. Need to bend the one stick just a touch. Can't be in 2 wheel rear low and reverse. That's no big deal just a slight bend. Not that I use 4x4 that often.

Big thanks goes out to Jon for the shortened twins. Really like the way they sit now.

Give it some time. Hope the tcase leak is cured.

Glad to hear you're back on the road & thanks for the write up on the issues. When I do my swap later this year I'll revisit this thread & try to do things once.

Got the seal I ordered from WH as a back up. UGH....its not the same one that came in the dana 20 rebuild kit. It's a Timken. It is a double lip but NOT a double lip double spring. I need to call them on Monday. The one in the kit is much better.

I had wondered about it being a double lip seal. The stock 20 uses a double lip seal but from what I can tell the AA adapter uses the single lip? I think because the trans has a seal in it as well

I'm following what Tom's has in the adapter video. They used the D20 seal that's in the rebuild kit. Double lip double spring.

I'll know soon enough if it leaks again. I'm 99.99% sure it was gear oil going around the seal body not the seal lips.

Time will tell. Didn't drive it today. Spent the day giving the 69 Mach 1 some love.

Just ordered 2 from WH, got them and checked them both were double lips single spring, sending back. #18767 is the right one, no luck here in utah. 18676 is correct#
