I ended up cutting my 73 Ranger I bought a couple mos. ago for street and trail use. In the last 60 days I put the CAGE 3.5" lift on with Duff's shocks I already had. Also, an adjustable track bar, C bushings, and drop track bracket. Bushwacker flares. 33" MTRs on 15x8 MT Alcoa wheels and 1/4" spacers. Hood pins and a few other things...

I re-used the Duff's front prerunner front bumper and got a Duff's rear plate. The rear plate bumper is awesome  What an excellent bumper. The camlatch design and HiLift carrier are great.

Anyway, here's a few before and afters...

Damn that makes me want to cut mine! That thing looked sweet as hell before you cut it but I must say I like it better now. Good job!

Looks like every other Bronco now. Like it, but should not have cut it.

I would love to get a stock uncut.

Man you are right there is nothing like a uncut. No more Beautiful than that.
I would love to get a uncut bronco to restore to original. Maybe one day.

That rig looks great now! I am about to cut my "73" Ranger and I hope it turns out that nice! Great job! Mine doesn't have the chrome strip around it like yours, is that stock or after market? Looks great!!

Thanks guys. The new lift is the CAGE 3.5" front and rear springs with new shackle bushings. This replaced a 10 yr. old 3" Rancho lift the PO put on with 30" tires. So the suspension is very nice and plush compared to the old one. Like others have said there is some body roll in the corners. It doesn't seem enough to worry about. I hope to add some ext. radius arms and a locker at some point. It rides pretty nice as is now. PS and PDB helps a lot.

2Bad, bought it down in TN not long ago. The guy said it was for sale on the JBG site for about a year.

Gladrich, I thought the chrome package was part of the Ranger package. Actually, I'd rather not have it myself. But it's there.

Rick was that sarcasm?
Someday I'd like 3 Broncos, 1 as a crazy ass flexin crawler, trail, dune rig, 1 as a middle of the road Bronco for street and trail, and 1 bone stocker in mint condition.
I'm about 1/2 way there.

It wasn't intended as sarcasm but underneith there may be a touch of it even though that isn't the intention. I do like the look of Louie's better with it cut than it was before. (I don't like the lifted uncut look) I would have liked the look even better if he would have gone in the other direction instead. I.E. Restored it back to stock. Not that I blame him for cutting it. More likely than not if I was in the same situation I would have as well. For my trail rig I always choose function first over anything else and having the rear quarter panels in the way would limit the function so they would be removed. My dream though would be pretty close to yours. I.E. To have 3 of them with one being completely stock. My middle one though will not be built for trail use. Instead I plan to have it look entirely stock from the outside. I plan to run an Explorer 5.0, 4R70W tranny, Front Disk Brakes, power steering, hydroboost, etc. I.E. I want it to look completely stock and be a reliable daily driver that performs well and that I can count on all year round. The only time it will ever see 4WD would be the occasional event like SOB (Casual drive on the sand) or during the winter if we have ice and snow on the roads. I'm currently watching for a good deal on one that I can do this with.
