Still trying to figure out new wheels and tires. I'm about to pull the trigger on a set of 17x9" M/Ts with BFG A/T 285/70/17s". Mainly street / light trail usage. I'm wondering if this is 'too much wheel' size wise for my setup. Thoughts? Thx!
Should be good to go. My 69 had 2" lift and 33x12.5's . They fit the wheel well fine and just barely rubbed at wheel lock.
What back space are the MT's?
To be honest, I've forgotten what the EB needs. Maybe the 17" will buy you some precious room down there.
it's not "usually" an issue, but it depends on the design of the wheel and the thickness of it's profile. Most castings are pretty thick, but I don't remember hearing of any 17's that rubbed the tie-rod ends on the wheel. So you're probably good to go. Just not 100% certain until you mount one up.
My Method MV305's are 17x8.5 with 4.75 of spacing.....Clears my Ford disc conversion. Running 285/70R17's 2.5SL 1 BL Stock front fenders cur rears.... Did rub just a bit n the radius arms but I got my lazy butt got under there and set the stops and now she don't rub no more
