Lift Block (factory?)

When I dismantled my 69 down to the frame, there was a 3/4" lift block on the driver side rear. Nothing on the Passenger.

The body and frame show no indication of ever being in an accident or being thrashed on the trail. The bodyshop said they had never seen such a clean bronco.

When reassembling, if you look at the frame from 10 feet out and from the rear, the driver side is distinctly lower, but just at the rear - about 1/2" or so. Knowing the general history of the Bronco - I cannot believe the frame got bent, such damage should be evident in the body or other components.

Is it possible the block on the driver side was done at the factory? Anyone else ever seen or heard of such a thing.

All of the suspension was 42 year old stock. It is all being replaced with a 2.5 WH lift, so once it is on 4 tires, I will be able to tell for sure.

What I am saying is that the frame itself is tweaked about 1/2" on the driver side rear and that the lift block seems to have been a compensation.

Are you positive its the frame being tweaked or could it be an illusion from the suspension causing the lean?

I have all new body mount bushings and all new suspension. I adjusted the trailing arm C bushings with the front axle sitting on a flat concrete floor with jackstands. It has always leaned to the drivers side. I believe the only way I can fix this is with a 3/4 block under the driver side rear leaf spring.

Don't get to concerned. Replace your suspension as planned and let it break in. I bet you will be putting that block back in.
