I'm sure here are 800 threads on this....

I'm doing a resto-mod, I want it to drive good, ride good and last a long time.

What lift to clear 35s? Fenders are cut....

What lift clears 37s and keeps it low on them?

35's 3.5" sl with 1" bl.

37's 5.5" sl with or without bl.

Many factors have to be considered regarding ride, handling, articulation, cost, etc....
But the vendors have some great kits that tend to do it all. Extra flex or nice ride usually hinders handling and vice versa. It all depends on what you want your eb to do.

For 35's a 3.5 SL with a lot of fender trimming or 1 inch BL
and
For 37's i would guess a 5.5 SL

I'm a bronco rookie...but not an offload rookie.....building a street cruiser, my comp buggy days are over!

Ok...I'm gonna make some calls on 5.5 systems, my main concern is the rear leafs, want a decent ride

And I know the search feature but I didn't want to read 700 threads!

Welcome to the site, no worries about not searching first, people here are very helpful and who doen't like to talk about lift kits and big tires?? Your best bet is to just call one of the venders and tell them what you're looking to do and they'll help you out, I've had good experence with both Wild Horses and Duff's, most here will say the same.

I'd go 3 1/2 plus 2 inch BL. At 5 1/2 SL you'll get into driveline angle issues and have vibration at speed. If this is mainly a street cruiser it will drive better with the lower lift and overall lower CoG.

X2...that's what I'm planning. I have the CAGE 3.5" lift, 2" BL and the 37's are sitting in the corners waiting for F150 axles, gears, lockers, etc. I considered the 5.5" SL route but I spoke with too many people who had gone that route and wished they'd stuck with 3.5" SL options for a hose of reasons, including ride quality, driveline angles, stability, etc.

For a street cruising machine, you're going pretty big.

x3 on the 3 1/2" lift and 2" body lift. 2" Body lift will help to clear that 351w you might install later too.... I'm just sayin..

(35-37s) Gonna need more gear even for a street cruiser.

I'm glad y'all mentioned drive lines...I'm used to running HPs and not having that issue.

I have plenty of gear for the 37s...513s and mustang 5.0 HO

this is mainly a street truck... I would do 35 and 3.5 and 1inch body lift, sell the gears for 35s and the street.. maybe 4.56ish.

I am runing the 5.5 with full widths ( street legal in FL) and with the adaptions i have made to get the axles under its now more like 6.5 inch lift and 1inch body with 38.5 tires.. (we dont have bolders just mud in FL)

I am 6'1" and I can just get in with out needing a step. Rear view mirror is not usable unles you have a big rig behind you.

you dont really need the hoops that are sold I would just do the F250 front hoop mod, extended raduis arms with toms arm mounts and WH shock jock and springs and a 1inch body lift. adj. steering linkage and adj. track bar

best of luck..

Search, Or look at my build thread in my signature. There you can see what 5.5 lift looks like with uncut and 33"s and cut 35"s and really cut with 37"s

I agree on the lift and tires, but I would probably run the 5.13's and put the money towards an OD transmission swap since you said it's going to see alot of street miles.

I would suggest that you meet some of the local bronco enthusiasts and take a spin in their rigs before you drop some coins on a new suspension. You might find the ride quality and overall handling of a smaller lift is more conducive to overall street manners for your style of driving.

Welcome aboard and you don't have to put up the tray table.
