Long travel arms on 2.5" lift?

I am very tempted by the Duff extended radius arm free shipping deal this black friday. I am wondering if anyone is running these arms with a 2.5" lift. My lift is the 2.5" system 16 from WildHorses. The Duff site says their arms should be used with a minimum 3" lift.

Anyone running Duff arms and 2.5" (or even less) lift???

I don't think you want to do thiis unless you are planniing on going higher than 3". Those radius arms are build for 3" or greater suspension, otherwise your Bronco won't handle correctly.

Not 100% sure about duffs but I think most of the extended arms have the caster built in for stock c-bushings on a 3"lift.

Don't worry about the added caster. IMHO stock bronco's have marginal caster to aid in ease of steering effort but not optimal for tracking. The added caster will improve tracking. The longer arm will also soften the ride. Some complain about added body roll with the longer arms, but I do not find it objectionable and like the softer ride and the improved steering control/tracking from the additional caster.

I seem to recall a build thread on the 2.5" lift with the arms and it all worked great!?? I'll see if I can find it.

As long as you already have power steering anyway.;)

Was thinking about adding these as well. And with the free shipping, it's even more tempting. Are they worth the money?

I sure do love my Duff arms.

Big improvement in ride!

I have the Cage arms with a 2.5 inch lift. I have no issues with how it drives.

Mine are on a 3.5" SL so I can't comment on a 2.5" lift. Wish I could've got free shipping.

Saying these things are beefy is an understatement.

Got mine last year during the BLack Friday free shipping. Awesome product. I have a 3.5" sl so a litte different, but i really like the ride.

As mentioned above, it does feel softer, they move so much easier vs the stock arms at the pivots. I spoke to Suzy about it at Roundup and she said dual shocks helps. But i am used to it and drive on the road or trails with no problem with a single shock up front.

Install is straightforward, i replaced the C bushings and getting them back together might be the worst part.

Did they change the mounting height of your front shocks? And what degree c-bushings did you install?

Thanks for the input!

Tempted as well... I just replaced the C bushings on my stock arms with 7 degree with 3.5 inch suspension lift, and the alignment shop said I had 2 degree when it was all said and done. Hopefully, the Duff arms add to the caster with the 7 degree bushings.

They will add more, so check your front drive shaft for binding at the pinion when your suspension drops out. I've found that you need to use 4* bushings with the Duff arms, when using 3 1/2" coils. The 7* bushings rotate the axle back too far. Good caster numbers, but the front U-joint can't operate at that angle.

This was my experience too. Here's a pic of 4.25° bushings and the front shaft attached to the trans case drooping limited by the joints and the axle at ride height. There wasn't much droop left in the joints. I went with 2° bushings (I think--I'm bushing degree challenged I probably have four sets) to raise the yoke on the D44. When I had new shafts made I had the front ground for additional droop. Drives OK at 60 mph but I don't drive a ton on the road. And I went fairly conservative on limiting straps as I tend to get the tires off the ground.

Change the height of shocks? From the bottom mount not really, but the arms allow way more down travel. I have hoops for top shock mount so just had to make sure the shock was long enough and didnt limit the down travel.

The Duff arms and their spring cups do make it a tight fit for some aftermarket bump stops, there was some trimming of bump stop.
