Anyone out there running longtube headers with a Hughes or similar deep pan and dipstick tube? All I have gotten to fit so far is shorties and I really want to run longtube, full length headers. TIA

My Duffs long tube headers clear my B&M deep pan. I had to "squeeze/flatten" the dipstick tube a little where it interfered with the passenger side header though.

Best way to solve the dipstick problem is to go to a LOKAR flexible dipstick. Makes routing and bending around headers a snap.

Pictures I've seen of the hughes dipstick tube indicate it may be slightly longer where it leaves the pan (before the 1st bend) than the stock tube.

If the hughes dipstick tube is the one that jeff's sells I was able to get it to work, but it took a little work to do so. I will add that I have a bronco stock pan.

The bend were it connects to the pan is longer, I was able to bend it without kinking using what I had (my trailer hitch with 2 5/16's ball). Once I got the bend as I liked it, the mounting bracket that mounts it to bellhousing needed to be cut shorter and the hole redrilled.

From that point I don't think I had to do any more to it. It final resting place clears the back corner of the valve cover by a 1/4" and the handle finishes out about 2" above that corner. The dipstick tube comes to withend a 1/4" of the header tube, but doesn't touch.

The transmission lines if stock won't fit any more with long tube headers. But I didn't have the stock lines anyway. When I made mine one goes behind the tube and one is outside the tube, its a tight fit but if I had to remove the lines, once the dipstick tube is removed and the starter the line drop out the bottom with little or no problems.

When I did mine the whole assemble was sitting on the floor so it was easier to do.
