Main Cap Torque Procedure Q

I have a reman'd engine that needs the oil pick-up's support stud installed (replaces that main cap bolt). What is the procedure for removing that bolt and replacing with the stud?

Do I first loosen both bolts on the same cap, replace the target bolt with the stud, then retorque both sides? Any concerns with the other bolt torque settings changing?

What is the final torque specification for a main cap bolt on a 77 302?

Thanks.
Jeff

Nothing special to change the bolt. Take one out, put another in.

If you are doing a complete engine build there can be some vodoo in seating the bearing caps and thrust bearings. But if all you need to do is change the bolts you are not disturbing there seating on the block and all is good.
