Hi everyone,

I am currently 0 for 3 attempts to install my 1 3/4" filler hose on my main tank. I purchased the hose from one of our vendors and trust their order. I have also read all the posts and even heated up the hose in boiling water and still no luck. My original hose did not have steal ring supports, however my new one does. Any ideas?

Thanks!

I feel your pain brother! Funny, after all the work I have done to my Bronco, my biggest problem has been with this filler hose. Mine also has a yellow stripe down the middle. I spoke to the vendor and they were the ones who suggested boiling the hose in water. Unfortunately, still no luck. Ben "73 Stallion" offered some good advise. He said to repeatedly hit the hose with a hammer of some sort to soften the steel rings. Give it a try and let me know if it works. I am done for tonight :( Best of luck!

1 3/4 will fit on the tank even that yellow stripe (bulk hose) I got mine very hot then stretched it to fit by pushing it on and using a screwdriver to get that last lip on.
oh and lots of wd40

Well I finally got the situation resolved! I ended up purchasing the 1 3/4" hose from NAPA for $15.00. It installed without any difficulty what so ever. Went to the gas station to test the tube and it worked great. However, after a $7.00 worth of gas, fuel started spewing out of my cracked vent tube. Fixed that and now everything is working just fine! Thanks for all your help!

I smeared a little plumbers grease on the inside to squeak mine on!
