Making sure I'm correct EFI 3G alt

If my research is correct, I run the yellow wire to where the mega fused red cable wire attaches to the alt. snip the green wire as it's not needed? Then run other end of red cable with mega fuse to hot side of starter solenoid.

Lastly, do I need to ground the alt?

the alternator is grounded through the engine. the yellow wire is a hot at all times and the green wire is the turn on circuit(needs to be a keyed power).

There is no harm in grounding the alternator, though as was said it is theoretically grounded through the block, assuming the block has a big ground too. I ran a big ground cable down to the frame from mine - it has a threaded boss just for that purpose.

thank you! One last question...sorry for being dumb. I am assuming the green wire goes to the small "s" post on the solonoid and not the "I"?

No, that would only have power during starting. You need keyed 12v power.
