Is Marine Clean really the best cleaner prior to use of POR products? I'm wondering if good old TSP would work just as well. I hate to pay shipping on that stuff when there might be a good local substitute. Thinking of doing my axle housings with POR-15. Will 1 quart do the trick. Thanks

You might be able to find POR products locally. There are a few local auto parts/paint suppliers by me that carry a lot of the POR line.

1 quart would be more than enough to do the axle housings. You probably could get by with just a pint. With POR, a little goes a long way.

I think any strong degreaser will do the trick - I used Oil Eater on my last por project because I was out of Marine Clean and it seems fine.
