That's good to know. I just plumbed a truck Saturday night and the one flare that would not seat is of course the hardest to reach, (the one on the splitter) that I had to remake 3 times. Looks like I need to invest in one of these and toss my el-cheapo in the trail bag.

What's going to be your new profession?

I think I am going to build a ww1 fighter plane. If not that perhaps a Log home. Both on the bucket list. I have one Bronco to finish and a Lady called me today asking if I would restore hers. That could be a sign. Or I will move to NC and work with Nick on his projects. Not sure what to do.

OMFG!.....30 seconds and less effort than it takes to open a Corona to put two absolutely perfect double flares on a piece of SS brake line.:eek:

Now I can ruin perfectly good pieces of SS brake line very quickly by forgetting to put on the fitting/nut before flaring!

LMAO....yeah, we've all done that!...and will surely continue to. That and make some really pretty and elaborate bends before realizing that one of the flare nuts is still slid all the way on the same end as the other one....and ain't no way its gonna slide over all those bends ya just made.

;D

I got the same one after cussing the screwed up lines too%) Makes it a pleasure to do the brake lines now. It also works great to put a bubble on fuel lines (or any others for that matter) for the hose clamps to hold better, just do the first step.

I haven't tried to source the 37* dies yet, but I would think they are available.

I bought one a year or so ago to do 3/8" SS fuel lines with the intention it would also be great for brake lines.

Even 3/8 SS lines is a breeze...well it takes a little effort, but the flares are picture perfect.

I absolutely love this tool. Pair it up with a nice handheld tubing bender and you can make some sweet and SAFE brake lines...

It will also does bubble flares for low pressure lines.

It would be nice they made a turret setup for doing the AN flares...I haven't seen any of those though. I think to do the 37° AN fittings it would require both a 37° turret and the 37° die blocks. Not sure about this, it would be nice if you could just buy new die blocks...

Maybe with enough requests Eastwood would pressure one of their vendors to make one...?

I've got a big brake job coming up (poor neglected 99' F150 plow truck) and I've got to replace most everything from the M/C to god knows where, it started leaking right after the ABS sh!t. I'm seriously considering this as a hand and mind saver - I can flare brake lines quite well, but even if you set everything up correctly its practically a roll of the fucking dice if it works or not.

Talking to the boss tonight - I'm thinking of picking this up before I get started and re-cooping the cost in saved labor... ;)

Working with Nick would be awesome and I am sure he would be glad to have your craftsmanship as well.
Good luck with whatever you decide.
