Mobile Mechanic - Phoenix?

I’m having issues starting my 74 Bronco. I think it’s something fairly straight forward, but I am not technically inclined to determine the root cause. Rather than push out of my garage and get it towed, I’d like to find a mobile mechanic to come to my house to see if they can get it started. Does anyone in the Phoenix area have a recommendation?

You guys got a good Bronco club up there in Phoenix. Maybe join the Arizona Classic Bronco club and check if any of those guys can take a look at it for you. If you were in Tucson I'd go help you with it

Sooooo, like whats it not or is doing? And we don't know what you have, so. My bet is unless the mobile mech says he knows what a carb is you won't like the results.

Randy at Driven, he can come get it but he is a busy guy this time of year.

And about where are you, PHX be big.

Join AZ Classic Broncos.
See if there is a member who would stop by and look at it. They are likely to be interested in the Bronco first, just to see what you have. And spend a few minutes to do the simple checks (and teach you what the checks are and what they mean)

That would be more beneficial than paying someone who is just there to fix it and make a profit doing so.

Welcome! Or just post some major cross streets or PM me your address. If it's close, I'll stop by. Does it have gas?

Thanks for the feedback everyone. I replaced the carb with a Fitech EFI and a new alternator last year. I’ve had issues ever since. I don’t think it’s anything super complicated, but out of my realm of expertise. I appreciate all feedback.

Fitech issues? Yeah that can be pretty super complicated man, friend of mine just spent a year getting his running right. Call up Randy at Driven, they specialize in fitech on EBs. Fitech is no way a mobile mechanics capability, they work on cars with OBD and plug and play parts..

I’m guessing it will crank over but not start? Does it do the prime shot when you turn the key on? Make sure you hear it and see fuel spraying down the throats.

Make sure you are getting spark - you can use a timing light to check or plug a spark plug into one of the leads and check for spark.

I had an interference issue with our fitech and had to do a factory reset on the unit. Pretty easy and solved the problem. To keep it from returning I ran the ignition trigger wire through some metal brake line and grounded the sheath to protect the line. No issues since.

Not saying that’s your problem but it was mine and many others’.

You still have not described the issue in detail for help. The more you explain the more this group can help you.
