OK, I see. But I have never seen anything like that before.
If it’s not too inconvenient, I would get another couple of seals, including maybe a different brand’s version, and see just how easily they slide over the shaft to that groove point. Or the area around it.
Should be a snug fit that lightly stretches the rubber over it.

Great idea. Will do. Take me a few days likely, but will post after. I put it all back together just to see what'll happen. It's leaking agian after 5 miles.......no surprise there.

Man!!! Took better part of an hour to figure out how to get photos to upload. Had to resort to my phone

Copy/paste works for me. Very easy.

I have more questions than answers.
Something not yet mentioned, do you have up and down or side to side play when the axle is in?

I wouldn't use the same brand of seal nor put it in the same spot. On my .75 phone it looks like some pitting on the axle between the retainer and the old sealing surface??? If so you will have a tough time getting it to seal there. Hopefully it's just my phone.

I would polish the seal surface with some 180grit Emory cloth. The seal needs a bit of tooth to bed to the axle and get a proper seal. As mentioned check for radial motion, these usually are not difficult to get to seal.

I remember dealing with this a few years ago. I like the idea of adjusting the depth of the seal, I never thought of that. If the old seal had groveled the axle so much that a new seal can’t seat properly what are your options for the axle? The surface is gone you can’t add to it . It reminds me of a crank that had a grove worn in it. I have used a sleeve that you install over the end with great success. But I have not seen something like that for an axle. Getting back to when I went through it, I bought another set of axles.

So, finally got back to it. Went to O'Reily and got new seal. I test fit it on shaft. Nice and tight. I tested the "triangle" seals I've been fighting and they arent even close to sealing. I bought them from a Brionco specific supplier. Never even considered the seals themself being my issue. Learned a good lesson.
I put it all back together and drove it 10-15 miles and seems to be dry. So hoping a $6 seal solved my issue that I was about to start replacing axle shaft for.
Thanks for all the help! I'll let the place I bought the seals from know about my issue. Hopefully they will take a look at them before selling them.
