My holley sniper experience is a failure

I have a 78 F150 that has to pass smog in CA. I've bought a couple of 2150's from RockAuto and found each one needed throttle bushings pressed in so plan on doing that. In the end, it was absolutely worth it to do that extra bit of work as the truck runs great on and off-road.

Did the replacement carburetors both come with the top float bowl vent fitting?
A lot of them don’t but that is one of the requirements. At least usually.
Have you already passed the smog test?

I'm not sure what you mean regarding the vent fitting.

Since I bought the carbs specifically for my application it was important that they had the venturi port on the back of the carb. This sends a signal to the WOT valve to kill the EGR valve at higher RPMs (around 4000), and it's only a 5HG signal.

My truck only has to meet Federal requirements (brought it home with my from VA) so all it has is EGR, vacuum canister, thermal switch for ported/manifold to control EGR/vacuum advance, and the heat riser from the exhaust manifolds/headers to the stock air cleaner. It has passed with no issue the two times I've taken it in the four years I've had it in CA.

Since it’s a federal specification truck, it might not have the charcoal canister/EVAP system.
I know that some trucks didn’t have them up to 77, but I’m not sure if all 78s were supposed to have them or not.
I know by 79 all trucks, even F350s had a charcoal canister. If yours does not have one, it is not required to have one, then you don’t need a bowl vent on the carburetor.
That was strictly for evaporative emissions.

I'm not sure what's up with some of the EFI systems.
I put the Terminator on my 73 right after it came out in 2013, still running it. I've had a bad oxygen sensor and twice had to replace the TPS but it runs like a scalded ape on my 393. I also had electronic board in the dual sync distributor go bad on me. I had some issues early on with fuel but all went away when I ditched the tank under the body.

I put the sniper 2V on my other bronco over 3 years ago, 302 engine with a very mild comp cam. I set it up and started it, haven't touched it since, always starts and runs good.

Both of these broncos have fuel cells in the bed behind the rear seat with return lines and vents. All the fuel lines are along the drivers side frame rail and all the exhaust is on the passenger side.

I have had my Sniper 4150 setup for two years and finally, just recently, have got it running good. It took a lot of messing with.
