My NORRA Pioneer build

For NORRA, highly recommend an external oil cooler. Lots of fast graded roads, lakebeds, beaches with sustained high speeds. When we drove Todd and Andrew's original Stroppe racer in 2010 we hit 105mph several times which was over 5k rpm for fairly long periods of time. Hot rod engine ran great but I'm sure we had hot oil. One of my greatest memories ever in off road racing was hearing the Stroppe 289 at full song reflecting off the door panels of the Swift Edsel as we pulled beside them at 90+, not more than 5 ft away, then motored away with more power. Was more satisfying than winning the Baja 1000.

Yup plan I one for sure.

Lots of progress because of a bunch of phenomenal Colorado Classic Bronco members. What started as a just put the body on Turned into a “what else can we install”. Needless to say it’s more than ready to head off to the cage builder tomorrow. Exceeding all expectations.

Have you thought about running 2 spares. They would not fit between the bedrails but yours is already almost outside the body anyway. From experience you'll like the the offset weight in the rear. My fuel cell is about where yours is mine 40 gal and I have 2 spares mostly outside the body. The additional weight bias really helps keep the front up and not diving into stuff.

Oh and super nice job getting the a pillar tubes so tight to the windshield. That's something you almost never see on early broncos

I actually have thought about it, i am sort of trying to stay close to the spirit of the pioneer vintage class and most those guys ran a single spare it seems. I am going to test it and see where I am at and make changes from there. The rear springs are super stiff and built for 500 extra pounds but are new and will settle a bit once they get some miles on them. I think I can easily add another spare either stacked, side by side or vertical.

Was just informed that cage is done and on to the shock mounts, engine bay and front bumper.

Good advice. 2 years ago we had two flats in 2 days with brand new BFG's. Really bad luck... You never know what will happen in Baja.

And it looks AMAZING so far!

Ya I might just carry one on the racer but will have three spares on the chase truck.
