Last major fabrication is done, Front suspension and steering is complete just needs some paint and a few details tidied up to be 100% up front. Somehow thanks to MarkW's advice/photos, we got air bumps stuffed into the motor mounts, they are not at an ideal angle (7-8 degrees off vertical) but for the wheel travel and lift we are running its pretty damn impressive that they fit at all and allow full up travel. I will probably add some shortened poly bumps on the frame as emergency stops as the first thing that would hit if an air bump fails is the trac bar and diff case with oil pan.. Hopefully get the brakes bled this week and take a run around the block before the next round of snow hits. 60 days left!!!!

Really cool work on the air bumps. Great idea and execution.

It runs, it drives, its a hand full on the street for sure. It's REALLY REALLY loud! (Baja won't care, but my neighbors do)

Here are some quick glamour shots, It's the nicest it will ever look for sure - hopefully get some more photos outside here soon before we get it dirty and start getting the numbers and other stuff on it.

We have lots of little things left but its ready for its first real shakedown run this weekend.

Well we are as ready as we will be at this point! We are headed out this Wednesday evening and should be in Ensenada Mexico on Thursday at some point. Once in Ensenada we will have a few days to register, get our paperwork, go through tech and contingency with all the other racers and of course fix/finalize/pack the bronco for the race. Race starts April 28th from Ensenada.

I will post up how to follow, track and even watch the race through the NORRA live stream - there should be some pretty good live video streaming throughout the race at various points.

We will have two satellite trackers on the Bronco, one on the Chase Van - I will post links to both before the race.

My wife will be posting to the Baja Bronco Adventure page on Facebook (https://www.facebook.com/bajabroncoadventures/) , including status updates, links to tracking and any photos we can get out throughout the race. Sorry for those who don't have a facebook account - its the easiest and quickest way to get to the most people - maybe borrow an account to check it out :)

It feels like we have enough spare parts to build another Bronco and hopefully we have covered enough bases to be able to fix most stuff as needed. It's been a long slog and I cannot thank everyone in the Colorado Classic Broncos group who has pitched in their time, money and parts to get us this here. I can't leave out US Mags, AGR Steering, Quake LED and the countless other people who pitched in.

Of course I wouldn't have made it without the tireless - and i mean TIRELESS efforts of Mike Root, Phil (Viperwolf1) and Jeremy Johnson - without them I can honestly say I would never have made it.

In any-case here are some photos of the Race Bronco!

Hey Chris that looks great! Looking forward to seeing it in Ensanada and meeting you and your team. You are so right about how absolutely essential it is to have the help of dedicated friends to do a project like this. Most people can't comprehend the hours it takes to do this and in a year no less. Good work. Mark PS I fear the horseshoe!

Good luck to all!
