My rear bumper build so far

This is my build so far any comments good or bad are helpful. Some of the pictures were taken with I pad thats why there fuzzy. Enjoy!!! More Pictures to come soon

thats looking really good so far!!

what else you plan to hold on the bumper? jerry can, hi-lift,etc?

Nice job... if I would have thought ahead of time I would not have flush mounted mine to the body so I could allow for a spindle for a swing away tire carrier.....

That's lookin awesome. Can you show a close up of how you made the latch. Here is mine which is really close to yours but I don't like the way my latch turned out.

Sorry, don't know how the superman picture (Ford Man) got in there?;D

That looks really solid. It would be a little slow to open but you won't have to worry about it coming open by accident while driving.

Bumper build looks great. That is some really nice work. where is the best place to buy the hardware for you swing out carrier? I am looking for a hinge and the latch. I would like the cam over style latch. Thanks

Yeah I might redo the latch. I'll do the toggle latch. And as far as price goes I am pretty luck my father in law owns a strucial steel company so all steel was free. The hinge was twenty bucks I had it made. It's a trailer spindle and the hub is a peace of thick wall tube with the inside machined out for the rises for the bearing.

With your CT background I thought i was going to see something made out of guard rail.JK ;) Looks good,keep us posted on the build.
