Someone cut and taped off these 2 purple wires and I cant figure out where they are supposed to go to. Any help is appreciated. They are in with the black and red brake lights wire but are cut off all the way up near the plug coming out of the firewall by the driver side wheel well.

My harness is a '77. It's a little different from '73s. On the '77s there are 2 purple wires to the brake warning light. I have a spare harness that may be a '73 I'll look at tomorrow.

Correction. They go to the duel brake warning switch that is on the H block. It is energized when the shaft between the front and rear brakes shifts to one or the other, after one looses pressure. On the disc/drum '76/'77 system the switch is on the combination valve.
Question; did you take the 3rd and 4th photos inside the engine compartment with the hood closed? If so, how?

Great, thank you. I couldn't find the wires in any of the wiring schematics I looked at. Guess I will leave them capped off.

Yes, the hood is closed, the body is off the frame, soon to be back on.
Now my question. I did not mention what year the truck is, how did you know it is a 73.. good guess??

Your profile. The inside the engine compartment photos seemed impossible without a remote shutter.
