Need Help from the Wiring/Electrical Guys

Good morning,

I am NOT a wiring/electrical guy....I know enough to be really dangerous!!

Nothing big....just really irritating. Here's my issue:

Front, left turn signal lights up and stays on when I hit the brake pedal.

I am assuming this is a ground issue. Any ideas and how to perform tests to track down the ground or faulty wire??

Thanks in advance.

doesn't sound like a ground, sounds like the brake lamps are back feeding into the turn signal wires. Its hard to say how though. You can start by pulling the bulbs and see if it still does it. If so start tracing the wiring to see if its rubbed into each other some where. When working on an ambulance I once found a similar problem, when the brakes were pressed the inside lights flashed, turns out a cabinet screw was put into a harness.

That's an unusual problem. How are the other lights working? Try hazards, brake and running lights. Need to know what the other bulbs are doing. Also pay attention to the turn indicators on the cluster. It could be some monkeyed column wiring or even a bad turn signal switch.

The front turn signals should not see power from the brake pedal. The turn signal switch engages and disengages them from the circuit. Did this just start happening? Maybe the turn switch. Try switching it right apply brake, then left and see how the left front reacts.

Been doing it off and on for a while now. Comes and goes.

Bronco has an Ididit polished column in it. Only thing I've done to it is add a Lecarra steering wheel.

I have noticed that my left turn blinker cancel has stopped working as well. Maybe I've got some wiring issues in the column or like several of you have stated, have a bad turn signal switch. Might be related to the bad signal cancel.

Turn signal switch should be a common part at local parts house?
