Need help with power steering box cap removal

'76 stock steering box. I'm doing a rebuild using Viperwolf's write up on Alpine broncos. Got the snap ring out but can't figure out how to remove the press in cap with the O-ring.(see pic) Any ideas? The snap ring and case is pretty rusty. Any way to drive it out from the other end?

Turn the input shaft. It pushes the piston back and the plug will come out.
