Im running the Explorer setup with stock Explorer pump. I will also be running a stock EB box. What hoses are you using and furthermore, where can I get them? Thanks in advance, Brad

aero quip hose and fittings from local hose store. buy the hose by the foot (we use the blue stuff), and get any fittings at any angle you need. There reusable ends you put on the hose yourself.

If you have the original Explorer high pressure hose, you can cut the pump end off and reuse it. I had mine made at a hydraulic supply place. They used a compression fitting on the original explorer end and what ever end I wanted on the other end. I have reconfigured mine a couple times for various reasons and each time they have been able to just change out the end for whatever I needed. The only down side is that the hydraulic hose is not very forgiving because its very ridged. You have to be sure you get the ends oriented correctly. I think it was $30-35 for the hose.

WH sells a kit of hose and fittings to build your own. About $50 bucks.

No they don't. I have the kit in my shop and the fittings are not correct and the hoses too short. I have found a local hose shop that will make me what I need while I wait. Thanks for all the replies guys!

That's correct. Our fitting kit does not have the proper fitting for the stock Explorer pump unfortunately. Was trying to source some today in fact, but the phones kept me busy. Perhaps tomorrow I'll have better luck.
The hi-po Explorer replacement pumps we sell are not stock pumps and come with their own fittings, so it's easier for us to match that up to what you have.
(edit: ) We actually have a separate fitting that might work. It's not part of the "kit" but is available as part #F2068 and may work.

69LUBR, have you called in to return the kit? If we knew it was an Explorer and sold it to you anyway, then I'll take it back from you. If it's just that the hose isn't long enough to run it the way you want, vs not fitting in any direction, we can still work something out.
But frankly, if you gave us all the info and it's not right, then it's not going to end up as your problem.

Let me know and I'll take care of it.

Paul

These guys sell the fitting that converts the Explorer pump to an AN 6 . Call them and tell them what your doing, they'll take care of you. Use the rest of the fittings in the WH's kit.

Paul, you should stock these fittings from them. I've bought about six of them.

Yep, tried to call them today to see about it. Got busy and couldn't follow through though, so tomorrow it's on the list again.

Have a friend who has an extra that I'm trying to get for another customer right now too, but you know how deep those small Bronco parts can get buried in a garage, given a few months!

Thanks for the heads-up.

Don't waste your money and time chasing down the parts for that. I just cut the end of the steel tubes with the fittings off the stock explorer hose and the hose I was using. Then I welded the explorers tube with the fitting on to the tube of the hose already going to the steering box. 1/2 hour of time Easy and done.

If you start with a factory Explorer hp hose, and have a good hose builder close by....it's an easy fix. I used the factory explorer hp hose with the box end cut off. Once it had it cut for length, I found the fitting/tube that my ps box took and had that end installed onto the factory Explorer hose.

When done right, you only need one end(the ps box) put on the hose at the shop. Mine has worked like a dream.

Not the adapter for the late model Ford PS pump. It's not a standard fitting.

Its a metric fitting. Well let me refraise this, both of the ones I have been to had everything I needed.

I should be more familiar with our stuff by now. Especially when it interests me enough to have tracked it down in the past!
I'd forgotten we carry a fitting #F2068 16mmx1.5 to AN that should fit the Exploder pump. I haven't personally used one, but it's something we have and can probably substitute for other stuff when an Explorer pump is used instead of one of the other types.

I just built these hoses today. Was my second time assembling AN fittings. It's really pretty easy. Do it yourself and be able to fix them if they break.
