If it can't beat stock Jeeps everywhere stock Jeeps can go there is no point in making it. Everywhere but rocks is B.S. I don't expect it to beat modified Jeeps but stock on stock I want it to whoop its ass.

Where's Fords Better Idea or Built Ford Tough.

We want to see, When the road gets Tuff you can Follow a Ford and we'll Get you There.

Not When the road gets Tuff You should have Bought a Jeep.

Otherwise bring in the diesel Troller. or maybe a 4X4 Escape to compete with the Subaru for king of the flat dirt road.

Ford, Man up, step up and get into the game. We don't want you watering down the Bronco's reputation.

"They commissioned another design study", sounds like that is the problem. Let everyone here on Classic Bronco design if for them, it would be a lot better option and short of some free "test" Broncos ;) we won't charge anything. Just build the 2004 prototype and call it a day!

Ford is not going to cater to our market, there's not even 14k members on classic, Ford wants to sell that many units in the first month or two, not the first year or two. I could give a rats ass if ford designs it like the original eb's we all love here, I have two originals that I love for what they are. If i'm in the market myself for a new vehicle, it will have to tow much more than what the original eb was capable of and is going to have to be much nicer on the interior. Ford is building this to make money, first and foremost, to do that, it has to appeal to a much broader audience than the current eb owners, just the cold hard facts!

You seem to be missing the point.
When they started up their marketing hype they said that the new Bronco would be competitive with the Wrangler off-road.
The more details that they release the more that shows to be FALSE advertising.

Then just call it the Ford Explorer because that's what they have now.

/\/\This is the point./\/\

They will build an Explorer and put a Bronco badge on it.

More like was able to read between the lines of the point! Fords intentions might have been come out with a eb style vehicle when the idea was first being batted around, but once the bean counters got involved, that went out the window. Most everyone on here wants a bronco that will be competitive or beat the jeep wrangler, that's not going to happen. Chances of Ford building a special assembly line to just run broncos is less than 1%. Jeep never stopped building the cj,yj, tj, ie: and though it has evolved through out the years, it still retains solid axles. Ford moved away from that in 1980 on a platform anywhere close to what a bronco might be built on. Accept it for what it will be and buy it or slam it and don't.
