That home made rotisserie is the cat's meow.

What was the paint combo that failed you?

What did you change so it stuck the second time? Thinking maybe help to save someone else a future headache.

Dave what are you using for a blaster? I bought the 20# horrible freight version. It works decent when it's dialed in. ReAD instructions and number the handles. Opening in wrong order fills the hose and wastes a lot of grit. Works decent though.

I will post the paint dilemma later. I'm still not 100% sure of the problem but will definitely post the variables and thoughts

So the temps look a bit cool for painting Saturday. This means most of the painting will be Sunday. Regardless I will be in the shop both days. Tranny and D20 both need paint. Frame needs a scuff and two coats. Undercarriage needs two coats. Shop needs about 50# of grit swept out that blew in from driveway :)

If anyone is up for a pop in and observe either day that's fine. Will have cooler ready. Don't feel like you need to invest a lot of time, but if you are out and about I will be around and working.

The weekend of September 6th is the new date for the WAQ!

Hank,
I'm using the Eastwood 100lb blaster. Probably the same as the HF/Northern ones they sell just with their name on it. Pre-test looks like it works well and yes you need to follow the correct sequence with the valves.
Using the Black Diamond media.

So the agenda for the weekend of the 6th is as follows;

attach radius arms, caps, springs (preferrably WITHOUT the Bronco lean :p )
attach front end to frame
attach new extended track bar
install new chevy front disk conversion ( i think i have all the parts and i already pressed the ball joints in (need to get front axle seal surfaces polished and u joints pressed in-- ANY SUGGESTIONS FOR U JOINT BRAND/VENDOR?)
attach new rear lift springs to 9" housing and hang on frame (i have all the bushings, wedges, plates, and u bolts, need to order e brake cables)
assemble rear brakes if i havent already gotten that done
install rear seals, brakes and axles
maybe install some brake lines -- i have the stainless kit
bolt on roller set of tires (need to find/borrow a set of 33x10.50, i have rims)

after that; drink beer, eat food, tell tales about dogs and deer hunting, whatever

its probalbly alot for a weekend, but whatever gets done is great.

Sounds good Hank. Nice to see you got a priority list going. Most likely won't be able to make it Saturday the 6th because of work but should be able to do Sunday the 7th If that still works.

Calendar marked.

So it's looking really good for this weekend. I've got the frame and axle housings all (re)painted and hung the rear leaf springs.

ImageUploadedByTapatalk1409660431.006190.jpg

All the small parts are also ready but I need to make a pass through the fastener bucket for a few missing parts. I will pre assemble the rear brakes this week.

Knuckles have ball joints already presses in. I need to get the studs into the front hub housing also this week.

So, the big job will be assembling the radius arms to the front end and installing both axles, and installing the disc conversion and then dropping the frame off of the rotisserie and rolling it out of the garage to admire :)

I will go back through the responses and send my address to those who have expressed interest. For those not available Saturday, I will make sure I have plenty extra bait if you want to come up Sunday.

Thanks all who are interested to come up. Hopefully the wrenching goes quick so we can get to the 'que part :)
