I've been looking for some good trails in the Cloudcroft area. Doesn't need to be anything too difficult, just something easy to moderate, everything I know of can either be done in 2WD or is for motorcycles. Can't find anything on line. Now that it's gotten hot I'm ready for some cool mountain wheelin!

I saw that, they were atvers. The trails they were talking about where a bronco would fit are the kind I could do in my 2WD Suburban. I'm looking for something that at least requires 4WD. But thanks for trying.

Coyote Canyon just north of Tularosa has some good rockcrawling trails. I left some paint there. There's also a few decent mountain trails off La Luz Canyon.

I've turkey hunted that area, but never found anything really worthy of 4x4 action. There are some roads up there that you need to bypass a burm or so but nothing too difficult.

I was in Cloudcroft a couple months ago. While eating lunch my wife was chatting with the guy who does ATV tours there. He said there were a few 4X4 trails in the area, but it seemed like most of what's up there is more ATV-friendly. Still, with all the old railroad beds and mining activity it seems the area is ripe for exploring a bit. I google-earthed the area after I got home and there are a lot of what looks like roads and trails, especially toward the south and the sunspot area. They might all just be graded fire roads though.
