Doug Mcgillis just picked up his early bronco after rust repair and a beautiful candy apple red paint job with interior raptor liner. Mark in San Diego, each City Broncos DSC_8170.JPG

Mark, to paint topcoat paint rhinolining that is already installed, is there any special additives or prep that is required? I won't be doing it myself, but I was just looking for knowledge of what to look out for as far as whether the painter is doing the right process.

That argent colored grille looks great against the candy apple red. Another great job by Beach City Broncos.

Each bronco is unique with it's own physical condition. Pretty impossible to generalize. I am happy to talk with anyone about their bronco.

To paint raptor liner; Any existing coating must have good adhesion to the body or it will have to be removed. Then eveything must be scuffed and cleaned thoroughly. The raptor liner is standard in black or "tintable". The paint (without binder so it is concentrated) is added to the epoxy and is sprayed. Everything must be flat without dents or they will show. Itusually takes 1 raptor kit to do the floor or 2 kits if you are doing the entire inside. We typically use it on the underside if we are doing a "frame off".

When you match paint, what type of paint is used to blend the raptor?

I think you answered my question. I don't have Raptor Lining though. I have Rhinolining (tinted) sprayed on the outside of my fiberglass body. It is smooth enough it doesn't catch lint off microfiber towels or really a fingernail. It has good adhesion, and there is apparently no way to remove rhinolining from fiberglass because of the gelcoat and such. I just want to change the color. It currently has a green metallic top color (with UV protected tint/topcoat) applied by Rhinolining dealer back in 2001. I don't want to add any thickness. I just want to change the color and dull it down a bit because it looks like too much sparkles in the sun.

Possible? Here is a pic to maybe help.

Someone asked me to post up more pictures of the rotisserie. It is made from an old bronco chassis from a time when they weren't so valuable. We have two of them
