I told [glow=red,2,300]69Early[/glow] and [glow=red,2,300]jims66[/glow] I'd get back with them with photo's when complete...
I've had these inserts all winter and it's FINALLY warm enough here in northern Nevada to go "Roadster!"
Since the vehicle had been re-painted sometime in the last 34 years, matching the color was impossible using the VIN #.
Body shops and paint are pretty $$$ pricey - too much to paint some little door inserts, so I went to "Carquest" up in Reno and the fella matched the color and put it in a spray can. Cost was $90, but I ordered 6 cans. A little overboard, since I only need a little more than one! (At least I have PLENTY for touch-ups....).
The color is pretty close. You can see once you get up close near the top of the rail the "original" color, the PO's paint color, and the "new" door insert color...
All in all, I'm pretty pleased with the CarQuest folks!
