I replaced all lines. Still problems! I ran a line all the way from the pump to the gas tank and it worked. When I connect it to the fuel tank selector switch it won't suck gas! What possition should this switch, that is under the driver seat be in? I assume main for main tank! Could this thing be messed up or clogged? When I bought the bronco the switch was in the middle possition facing down?

Main is for the main rear tank and aux should be the front tank. Your switch could also be the problem. I could be wrong but mine would not run at all in the middle position. I would disconnect from the switch and bypass it all together, and try that. They can and do go bad.

position the selector to one side or the other, it wont work in the middle an will run out of fuel

I tryed every which way with the switch.I even ran the line from the pump to the switch and then a hose into a jar of gas and nothing! I may be stupid, but I'm not dumb! Or stupid is stupid does! It could be user error! This is my third bronco and first time this has happened though. Anyway, I ran a line straight back to the main tank and everything works. I will probabbly switch the switch next day off.
Stupid switch!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

hope you do the hard work....

and save me a lot of time. I am having the same problem but not consistently. My truck is doing this once every 5-8 outings. No fuel in the Fram filter and this can happen in mid-trip. It has never completly killed my engine but will get to the point where it is barely spitting fuel through. In less you enlighten me with an ah-hah!, I'll be going to an electric fuel pump soon to start blanketing my problem. Good luck!

Ok, I been listening to this whole problem, try this , it only helps to narrow the problem. remove the fuel caps and see if the fuel fills the jar. I had this happen to me and 2 new fuel caps solved the problem. there is a relief valve in the center of the caps. I replaced mine and off to the races

If it winds up being the switch, you might go with an electric. I cant hardly reach the manual one while driving, & mine is a little worn & leaks a little gas in the cab when you change tanks.

Hey man, i don't know where you are on fixing this problem, but my Bronco ws being a bitch just last week cutting off on me and then not starting. I took my air filter off to look down in the Carb. and noticed that the butterfly flap was barely open when it was idle-ing and didnt move at all when i gave it gas. Once i adjusted the flap i haven't had any problems. This may not be your problem but i hope you get her fixed and back on the road soon...

Hey all, I just bypassed the fuel selector switch and everything seemed to be ok. But then I took her out and went to pass a car and it cut out on me!!!! I'll check the carb thing, it could very well be part of the problem! My choke is not attatched and is being held open by a wire, maybe it is a little loose! Thanks for all the advise!
