From what I was reading on POR, OX is still around and they are just about to come out with the OX for the 60. It sounded like you don't buy from a distributor anymore, but just directly from OX.

There are two issues going on - one is ox and superior are in a legal suit so now you can no longer buy OX products from places that superior supplied. 2nd - I have been told that OX is re-designing the OX for the 44 and it won't be re-released till late spring or summer next year.

If the electro-trac can handle the abuse of larger tires, I think that would be the better choice. When unlocked it is a gear driven limited slip, when electrically locked it is a spool - sounds perfect for use up front.

I'm pretty sure the redesign concerns modifying the actuator fork to use an electric solenoid, instead of the cables that current OX's use.

I've co-installed OX's in D30's and D44's, and after putting a few months of street and crawling duty on them, think they're the ultimate traction aid. For street driving, towing, etc, they're invisible-completely open. No popping, clanking, clicking, ratcheting, no air lines to leak, no compressor to wire up- nothing. When engaged, it's like the axles are welded together- no slip at all. Axles and U-joints lead an easier life when they're not subjected to "shock" loadings.

Think about it...when you need a locker, you NEED a LOCKER. When you don't..well, it might as well be an open diff. With the OX's YOU get to decide- and can engage/disengage them whenever you feel like it. Those diff covers/skidplates are damn usefull, too- we drug them over ridges, shoved boulders around, and mowed down a few tree stumps without hardly scratching them. What's not to like?

I just visited their website and e-mailed them because they asked for applications they should build. I suggested the ford 9" and their response was its on the drawing board. My point is it seems to me like they're up and running.

will
