The throwout should always touch, & spin. It's designed NOT to wear, and if it wore enough to affect the pedal, it would come apart. It's not that thick.

If the fork has started to bend, it's not gonna stop.

The wear on the tip of the pushrod is negligible - it's too small to affect the pedal.

I think your pedal box might have broke lose from the cowl channel just below the windshield.

Here's what I wrote before...
**Quick fix**,
I drilled through the cowl, through the pedal box and installed a really big bolt with a huge washer on the top surface with a nut and split washer below. I ended up replacing the cowl channel later on, not a quick fix.

Good luck!
Chris
PS I'll look in my old laptop for pics, I think I've got them somewhere.

That was a problem on FS trucks when the ZF first came out - Ford published a TSB about firewall cracks & adding a big brace from the core support to the brake booster. It was because the diaphragm was so strong. On a few trucks, the force from the concentric slave actually broke thru the front of the transmission.

well, i got the pressure plate swapped last night and got everything back together and drove it every where today! im back to using the stock clutch fork rod(not the custom extended one)

all i can figure is...i had to adjust that rod out so far to release the clutch, that i wasnt getting anymore travel. i also noticed(thanks to taipeichris) that there is a bolt location in the top portion of the pedal assembly...IT IS MISSING. this is allowing the pedal assembly to pull away from the flat cowl area right above the pedals...then push toward my firewall.(it can raise the brake booster up about 1/4"

i plan to replace that missing bolt tomorrow.

when its comes time...for a new clutch(where is the best place to get one??) also what is the thickness of a new clutch? i only have two clutches here to check(the nv3550 and the stock ford 3sp clutch)...both were around .335-.340"

also, is there a stock application for these clutches?? like a heep, or dodge??

When installed my NV3550 the only thing I changed was the GM style clutch disc.
Pressure plate, fly wheel and throw out bearing are all stock Ford parts. They sit behind a 351W so I allready had an 11" Long stye clutch. No modifications to the fly wheel.
It seems to me you need an 50oz, small block fly wheel drilled and tapped for an 11" disc. Then just buy an 11" long style or diaphram style pressure plate and new stock style throw out bearing.
P.A.W
Jeggs
Summit Racing Just to name a few.
P.A.W. sells individual Clutch parts. You don't need to buy a new disc to get a PP or bearing and they sell at least 3 made in USA brands.

The 1-1/8 10 spline that came with the AA kit.
You asked for a good place to buy a new clutch and what application, I was making a recomendation to both of those questions.
