NV3550 reverse switch wiring?

I'm finally getting around to rewiring and I need to hook up the NV3550 reverse switch while I'm at it.
I don't know how the stock one was hooked up so I'm hoping I can get some guidance.

My new kit has a wire that goes back to the reverse lights but nothing else.

I guess the question is, what do I hook up between the switch on the transmission and the wire that goes back to the lights?
The switch on the transmission just has two wires. Do I just ground one?
I'm guessing the other will need power from something.

Thanks in advance!

The 2 wires on the new transmission.
They connect to the 2 wires on the old reverse light switch.
Don't ground anything, the bulbs are grounded. You are controlling power to the bulbs, not the ground.
The stock backup light switch for a manual transmission is on the steering column under the hood right up at the firewall.

The two terminal switch on the transmision completes a posative cercuit when placed in reverse. You need power going to one terminal and the other terminal going to your tail lights. No grounding to or from the transmission.

Sweet! Thanks guys!

That makes more sense than having a relay in there. I'll have to dig through the rats nest I pulled out and see if the old reverse switch is still there.

Otherwise, per bad 68, it sounds like I just need an ignition hot to one wire off the NV and the other connected to the wire going to the lights?
