Oil Pan to Timing chain cover fitment.

So I have a new Bronco pan with an aftermarket replacement of an Explorer timing chain cover. As you can see in the photos it just doesn’t fit right. You can see the mark in the pain where it’s contacting. Would it be safe to grind a little material from either the pan or the cover? Obliviously I’m worried about leaks. Has anyone else ran into this issue?

I have a 76 bronco with a 5.0 With a explorer front with an original ford oil pan and fit perfect . I see in the picture you have a Fel-Pro one piece gasket which is good I like it but if you did any grinding I think you’re guaranteed a leak I would try another oil pan myself

Do you still have the old pan and the old cover? Have you tried the different combinations to see if it’s just one, or if both parts are at fault?
