One more quick question not related, if I put the transfer case in 4 hi and the hubs are not locked in, shouldnt my front drive shaft turn?

Voltmeter's not stock, so I don't know where that's wired in. Bit if the gauges died, they're powered (IVR) right off the ACCessory connection on the ignition switch. The radio, etc is powered through the 14 amp ACC fuse. I suspect you don't have power there either. start checking at the ignition switch.

Oh, and yes, the front driveshaft should turn in 4WD.

Thanks, I probed the 14 amp fuse to check for voltage and everything came back on, then I hit the blinker and everything went off again, so I'm guessing poor connectivity. Second issue, I put the bronco in 4 Lo and the front driveshaft isn't turning unless the hubs are locked in, I can feel it pulling hard as hell and when I put the stick in 4 Lo with the bronco off I can't turn the driveshaft by hand, and I can't really tell if I'm in 2hi or 4 hi, I ll just keep fooling with it , I guess ill have to put it on jack stands to verify, thanks

I have had electrical gremlins twice on two different Broncos. I took the body ground off the fender and everything worked fine. I can't explain why (and have been wondering myself).

I'll try that, i still have everything grounded to the fender. i wish i could afford a whole wiring kit that would hopefully solve all my problems, but i can't. I'm trying to save up to do the body work. and i have to figure out this 4wd problem.

Hay I got somewhat the same prob.I pulled mine in to do the heater box/core fix and just as I got out my knee hit the signal switch and I noticed the r.turn signal did not come on then I hit the left side to see and it worked --for a sec and then it quit as did inside light, dash lights .Head lights still work, heater switch works, park lights work as does the wipers. I don't have a blowded fuse and I also took off the bat.cable to see if I had a short(spark)wasn't one?I wish I could afford the new harness also. I have had electric probs with this truck off and on for 25yrs.Things have quit and started back working all by themself before??.

The headlights and brakes are on their own circuit, so whatever you had happen, did not effect that particular set of wires. Keep looking where the others said and where you've been digging, and something should pop up. Uh, well, hopefully not "pop", but you know what I mean.
