Opinions on fuel plumbing EFI

The only thing I have against braided SS line and AN fittings is when something goes wrong at 9PM on a Saturday night and trying to find parts. Normal hard line and EFI rated rubber line can be found at any parts store in any tiny town. AN stuff, it can be hard enough to find that stuff locally on a weekday in a big city when you are not waiting on it.

That can be seen as an argument against using braided SS line and AN fittings or an argument that you should keep a length of the line and a few fittings on hand for spares.

Part of the reason why I went with Push-Lock hose ends and AN adapters was because then I can simply replace a section of hose by carefully cutting the hose ends out of the old hose and pushing them into the new hose. I used "Emissions Barrier EFI" hose, which is darned near as expensive as braided teflon, but can be sourced from most any auto parts store. This hose has a teflon or polyethylene liner in it. It is also not intended to be used on these fittings, but my test of the combo is going on 2 years old, and that street car's EFI pump hangs from it's hose fittings (no mount bracket).

My RoT with braided brake hose is to buy enough extra hose and one extra of each unique fitting so that I can make up any hose on the vehicle in the field if necessary. The extra pieces go in a zip-lock bag and stay in the truck at all times.
