Hi, can anyone tell me if the Aux. skid pan and strap bracket were galvanized or painted black or something else? Thanks

I believe they should be black.
Here is an original one I cleaned up.

The point is: it doesn't really matter. No one can tell you the color you choose is wrong. And as long as you don't go crazy with it, the truck won't be worth any more or less regardless. As long as it doesn't rust, any color is better than bare steel.

I have a 72 that only has 78,000 original miles on it. I just had the undercarriage steam clean and it’s black.

Ditto. Mines off for a restoration. They were black from the factory.

Thanks everyone. I’m not sure of a good chrome plating place around here so black will due for me. Not a straight restoration but trying to stick pretty close on certain things. Thanks
