Little stumped here! I have an original 67' Sport with 100k miles on it. It came with a 289. Engine is original and has not been overhauled. I am unsure what the engine color should be, as it has both the dark blue and the light blue on valve covers and block. As this Bronco has all the Mustang trim, does anyone know if Ford repainted these engines when moved from Mustang assembly to Bronco? I would like to detail the engine and bay but am unsure which color to go with. As well does anyone have the color codes foe exterior paint for 67?

Before I painted mine, it also seemed to have both colors, I came to the conclusion the dark blue fades over time from heat and the elements. That’s what i was thinking anyway. There were like strange splotches were a lighter blue. Any it’s a 76 so I painted it the dark blue...

I'm not sure what the original color on the 67 engine was but to confuse things Ford made Old Ford Blue and just Ford Blue which is lighter than the Old Ford Blue.It seems like I had Ford Blue on a 1978 F-100.I have the original 302 engine in my 1970 Bronco and the engine color is old Ford Blue.

Welcome to the 67 Sport Bronco club. ( I own two of them)
I would go with the Dark Blue.

The color code is on your VIN tag by the em brake. Tell us what the number or letter is and we can tell you the original color.

Ford Dark Blue is the color you want. Any auto parts store should have it in a rattle can.
I personally like the Duplicolor ceramic engine paints. They seem to hold up well over time.

Springtime Yellow is your original color.
It was built Feb. 1967

Slight hijack -
Does anyone have a rattle can p/n for the earlier light blue engine color? My 63 Galaxie could use a valve cover refresh. I have purchased a couple cans from auto parts stores, however none are close. My backup plan is to take one off and have it color matched.
