When i painted the engine bay i spent the time to strip / sand all the way down to bare metal. Now i am getting ready to paint the dash, grill and fenders, should i also strip these all the way down, or just give them a good sanding, fill and shoot? If the later, should i throw some primer on over the existing paint then final?

Thanks.

For me it just depends on the situation. over original paint, I would sand and prime. Over 2 or 3 repaints, I would strip it down, epoxy prime.

Every imperfection will show through the paint. Grill, dash and fenders are out in the open for everyone to see, especially you. I took my dash to bare metal then primed. I like the way it turned out.
