For you guys who have replaced qtrs, rockers, and door posts. Do you put seam sealer on after you weld the panels on? I have been looking at my old panels and it looks like around the rockers ans striker post they look like a very thin layer of sealer has been but on those. YOu can still see the edges but not cracks. In the future I am goin to have to replace the lower qtr, rocker, door post, floor, and patch the inner fender on my drivers side and I am starting to do the research.

yes, wait untill you are ready to paint but allow the sealer time to dry.

Ive been poking my head under my wheelwells a little more this weekend. Can I replace the lower qtr panel without removing the wheel housing? It looks like if I cut the panel out next to the seams I "should" be able to access the spot welds. Im just concernd about welding the new ones back in there.

It looks like there are 3 pieces lapped there together- the upper 1/4,lower 1/4 and the inner fender. What is the order from top to bottom of the lap?

Coming from under the truck, the lower quarter is the first thing you will find. I knocked my pass side out last week and cleaned up the spot welds. I started welding the lower quarter back on and had to enlist the help of my brother. He welds for a living. I did find out from my local paint guys that I could have used an epoxy on the upper seam and just welded my two ends and the bond would have been very strong. I may consider that approach when I do the driver side.
