PCV grommet

It seems like I have more problems with the small things than the big things. Anyway, I'm going back to original stamped steel valve covers. I want to use the twist on oil cap on the driver's side with an elbow on top that I think is for the breather, which connects to the stock air cleaner as a source of clean air. The passenger side will get the PCV valve. the valve covers have a 1" hole that needs a grommet to hold the PCV. I look on line at the various suppliers and I see different grommets. Most of the grommets show the OD and ID measurements, but they don't tell you what size hole they fit. Does anyone know of a grommet (part number and/or supplier) that fits the PCV in a 1" hole? From my experience with Chevy's the valve cover holes are 1.25". Thanks..........

I went to the local parts store and bought 2 or 3 of different sizes that i thought might work and then used the one that did.

If your stock air cleaner has the hose fitting sticking out of the small end aiming roughly at the driver's side valve cover, then you're on the right track.
Just mentioning that because that's the early style. The later style (about late-'70 through '77) had the valve in the driver's side cap and the breather elbow in the passenger side.
The fitting for the hose in those cases was under the air cleaner "trunk" on the passenger side of the carb, but not quite at the filter housing.

Have fun!
