Pics in PMs?

Is it possible to add the ability to post pics in PMs? I get a lot of questions about wire diagrams and sometimes it's impossible to text someone through it. I either end up searching for the pic in an existing thread so I can steer them to it or just switch over to email. Both are a hassle.

I know it isn't a direct solution, but if you host most of your common diagrams on photobucket or the like you can include them in a PM using the IMG code.

Ex.

It wont come up as a link in the message, it will just show the picture instead. I will sent you a PM to show you what it looks like.

Unfortunately all of my pics are hosted on my hard drive.

I would like to do this as well. Noone is pestering me with questions about wiring diagrams, and rightfully so, but it would still be nice to easily include a picture in a PM.

This won't help Viper, but when i want to send a picture, I do it through my phone. With tapatalk, you can upload the photo to the PM and host it on tapatalk.

I'll look into it. In the mean time you can upload pics to your Gallery here on the site and then insert a link to that photo in your PM.

Viper, it looks like you have several wiring diagrams already uploaded, so maybe that's a good solution for you.

So you don't mind if I upload all 253 MB of my wiring diagrams there?:)

The file size doesn't bother me, but the more I think about it the image size may be a problem for wiring diagrams. The Gallery automatically downsizes to 1200 pixels and the attachements on the forum to 1024 pixels.

Are those even big enough for wiring diagrams to be readable?

The full diagrams are probably unreadable. Typically what I do is I crop them down to the area in question then make modifications or annotations as required. A lot of diagrams end up being one off so having it permanently hosted would be off little value.
