Hi, I've searched and searched and am having trouble finding any pics of what I need...I am only doing a mild 1" body lift on my cut-in-the-rear only but otherwise stock '74 Ranger and am trying to get a grasp on what tires to run with on this setup. FYI my rims are stock(AFAIK) and I would like to reuse them. Any help at all would be appreciated!

Are you cut front and back?
If so you should check out WH eb named Gramps.
It has no lift at all but flares front and back and they have 33x12.50's on it.
I think they even have it on YouTube.

With the rear cut only, and one inch of lift, you should have zero problems with anything between the 31x10.50, and 32x11.50 of 15" sizes. If you're running stock 15" wheels as opposed to some optional stock 16's (make sure which you have) then those are the two main choices.
The 33x12.50 size will fit the rear, but very possibly rub the front. At the very least you will have to trim the inner fender "lip" that hangs out past the pinch weld. It's inside the wheel well and nobody would ever know it's missing though, so don't hesitate to trim it if you end up needing to.

The fact you're going to use stock size wheels will help with fitting tires in the front, but will practically eliminate the use of the 12.50" wide tires. Not that they won't fit, but that many shops won't mount them anymore because it's out of the normal recommended range of normal use. Might look funny too.

Modern metric size tires can be in that same ballpark, and tend to be slightly narrower of section-width too, so might get you taller while still fitting a stock width wheel. Not sure of the actual usable sizes, but I'm guessing in the 235 to 255 width, and 75 to 85 profiles.
Someone has probably tried it and can give you more accurate info.

Got some pics of the wheels you're talking about? Since you're not a "contributor" yet Eric, you can either upload them to a free image hosting site and link to the location here, or e-mail them to me and I'll post them up for you.

Just helps for us to get an idea.
By the way, most of the tire sizes I talked about will actually fit on a stock height Bronco with cut fenders. You're gaining a little with the 1" lift, but not enough to really get into the meat of larger tire sizes typically.

Paul, as usual you've been very helpful! Here is the best pic of my wheels that I have on me. They're painted and I believe they were originally chrome. Of course I could be totally wrong :)

Measure between the frame and the top of the axle tube on both the front and rear axles. it will tell you how much sag you have. stock is 7" in the front an 6" in the rear. With the stock height, stock rims and 1" body lift you could go 31" tires with no issues if you keep it narrow. If you go wider wheels 3-3/4" back space about 7" wide you could go as wide as 10.50 -15 tire but you would probably need to trim the inside of the front fender down by the front lower support rod. Nothing you would notice from the outside but when the tire gets cranked over hard the very edge of the tire tends to hit down there in the front.
If you get the 1" body lift with new mounts you will get closer to 1-1/2" lift from what you have now with the old rubber mount sag. it all depends on how much spring sag you have now.

Common "wagon wheel" style and very good looking on Broncos I think. But then that's what the cool stuff was back when I was really getting into this stuff too. Could be bias? Nah... ;)

You will eventually have to measure them or find a marking on the back, but they look like they could either be 7" wide, or the 8" wide version with more backspacing. A friend had them on his '72 looking very similar.
Definitely not stock though.

Yours look almost like they stick farther out, which could be a variation in width, offset, or simply the camera angle.

Pretty much most of what I said previously applies still, but with the slightly wider than stock wheels, your front just became a tiny bit more sensitive to overall tire size. You might still be able to fit the larger of the sizes mentioned, but a little more likely to need to cut that inner lip I mentioned too. If it hasn't been done by a PO already.

Have fun!

Rusty's got good info as always. However, he's also dyslexic today;D, and really meant to say 7" in front and 6" in the back is stock.

Thanks. I always look for an excuse to sneak some of those in here and there. Been a good day today on that score.
Makes me think I need to take some time to scan all the others too.

I have original suspension with a 1" body lift. I'm sure there is some spring sag. I run 8" wide spokes the same as what you have with 31x10.5-15. No issues at all. In fact this tire/wheel combo was on it before the BL. Rear is cut but not the front.

Here is 1" body with a new stock height suspension. The tires are 31x10.5. As you can see due to the wheel offset I have some issues. I am putting 2.5" suspension lift on it to solve this problem.

Very nice ride Bobscott! So would this NOT be a problem if your rear was cut?

Thanks. It would not be a problem at all. The rear was cut when I bought it with the same tires and similar wheel offset. The original body mounts and the suspension were pretty clapped out also. The truck probably sits 2-3" taller right now just due to new suspension and 1" body lift. Here is how it sat when I bought it. Again same tires, the lettering is just turned in on the new pic.
