Plugging spare carrier holes

I'm strongly considering a plate rear bumper with heavier tire carrier on my Stroppe, for wheeling purposes. I don't want to permanently fill the holes from the stock carrier, so wondering if there are any creative ways you guys have seen to temporarily plug those holes?

I left the backing plate in there and used stainless button head bolts. I'll fill them eventually, but it looks decent for now.

I bought some little plastic black plugs that almost lay flat

Home depot (or better yet ACE hardware) has some snap in shiney metal plugs. Size the hole, get the right ones, snap in place. Find them in the little drawers where the specality nuts and bolts are at.

I just put new bolts on and used the top holes for my flag, when I'M in the dunes.
