Went to look at a Bronco today....it is a 3spd on the floor (Duffs). It kept wanting to pop out of gear in reverse. I tried to hold it in gear but it still popped out after a few feet. The Bronco seemed to drive fine in all forward speeds.

Any ideas on what would cause this or solutions?

thanks

Could be just the floor shifter out of adjustment or lack of lube or just dirty. I had a 4 spd floor shifter that was real fussy too. Also a Duff's. When they get dirty or dry, they dont like to shift or they will hang up between gears... 3spds are a dime a dozen so even if it in the trans it's not that $$ to fix.. if thats the only thing wrong with the Bronco dont let that stop ya from buy'n it...

Either not adjusted right, the shifter is hitting the floor, or internal to the transmission. Last time I checked there were a handful of good 3-speeds in the free parts section

My answer is like the other needs a bigger hole in the floor to make a complete throw or clean and readjust it ...or you was want an NP435 in your Bronco when you started this game...
